Copyright

Ok while myself I respect the copyright laws to a certain degree...(thus why i have a shit load of DVD's and CD's)...I also download from torrent trackers, which technically as considered ILLEGAL. Ok so taking that into account it really makes you wonder why Copyright law protectors and such (official corperations) get their knickers in a knot when trackers become too much. WHY not go after what makes us ABLE to share?...

Why bother?...Seriously...We all have something on our computers that goes against the copyright laws....

Why oh why?!...Do they give us the means (LEGALLY) to make MP3, AVI/MKV/OGM...etc...why do they allow us the be able to record from the DVD or copy movies from DVD to tape or HD etc.?...Hmmm?!...WTF?!...Its like the biggest fucken joke in the whole world. If they don't like their movies or music or whatever spread all over without being able to collect royalties (which they are entitled too) why not clamp down on places that releases "FREE RIP" programs?......Why allow places to releases HD/Settop boxes, DVD/VCR players that have the capibility to dupilcate things?....

Seriously though why do they let that slide?...Its the only reason that music/movies etc end up on the internet...BECAUSE WE AS CONSUMERS have the means to do so. I mean I have done my fair share of uploading and downloading, I TRY...and TRY REALLY hard to replace lots of what I have downloaded with DVD's or with the hard cover comics etc....But I as a single person only have so much money. I made a point after I got Great Teacher Onizuka (live-action, Dorama) from a friend fansubbed to BUY the Japanese released DVD's...the same with Hana Yori Dango...and many other live-action and anime series. I didn't stop there, I replaced a LOT of scanlations with the actual manga book, obviously though because I can't read Japanese I can't have a real opinion on the translation there...But on occasion I prefer the words that a scanlator group has used as opposed to what a company like ViZ or Tokyopop have chosen.

I would like to replace EVERYTHING that I have downloaded with official copies but do you have like an extra billion dollars laying around anywhere?...I sure as hell don't...If I like something enough that I have watched from download I will eventually BUY it...Which is what a few other people do as well...

Now I hope companies that follow places around and bust them for having © work on their sites pull theit thumbs out and stop shooting the middle man...And go after the big fish (i.e. Ashampoo, Microsoft....FREEWARE....etc.)

Thats just for media...if and what it comes to art...thats another story.
